According to a dispatch following the cabinet meeting on October 3, the Kenyan government claims that it reversed the GMO ban after taking into account things like the Kenya National Biosafety Authority's (NBA) guidelines, the need to adapt to climate change and a reduction in reliance on rain-fed agriculture. The Kenyan government repealed a ban on the commercialization of Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) cotton, a GM cotton type resistant to the destructive insect pest known as the African bollworm, during the same cabinet meeting. Following the lifting of the prohibition, President William Ruto tweeted: "We are implementing innovative and new farming solutions that will assure early maturity and higher food production to protect millions of Kenyans from recurrent starvation."  The Presidential Debate 2022 : DP Ruto & Gachagua

It remains unclear whether Deputy President William Ruto and his running mate in the August 9 General Election, Rigathi Gachagua, will attend their respective debates. The DP Ruto presidential campaign Communications Director Hussein Mohamed in a statement on Friday said that he and the team had offered their advice to the duo, and the ball is now in the court.

“Whether or not the UDA presidential candidate and deputy will appear for debates is a matter that firmly rests with them. I and the team have advised them given the current media environment. That advice was legitimized by a monitoring report in June conducted by MCK,” Mohamed said.

The deputy presidential debate is set for Tuesday, July 19, while that of presidential candidates will take place on July 26 at the Catholic University for Eastern Africa (CUEA) in Karen, Nairobi.

 We both are aware that the Deputy President Ruto has been lying continuously for the past four years or so. How will he be able to respond to the obvious lies? Social media are interactive technologies that make it easier to create and share content across virtual communities and networks, including information, ideas, emotions, and other kinds of expression. Participating in such a discussion may lead to one on how he plans to maintain the dry port at Naivasha (while there) and revert port operations to Mombasa (while in Mombasa)

I avoided talking about the implications of Deputy Presidential Candidate Rigathi Gachagua out of the highest respect. He is a man with a purpose to fulfill all he has ever wanted using the title "His Excellency". The area to thaw out his frozen funds and construct a spacious home where worshipers can go to honor him. There will be an abundance of muchele, nyama choma, chapati, and soda (choda) in that home. Men will drink wine for digestion while ladies indulge in porridge. You see what I mean. This person must truly like state accolades, international travel, and other things of that nature. He has so many deals that need to be completed. And he'll gracefully retire. Yes, sir !
